Tina's Tool Tip Tuesday - Bone Folder

Happy Tuesday everyone! How has the week gone so far? Hopefully not too terrible since only on day 2 of the work week. I am going to continue on the Tool Tip Tuesday train this week and will try to feature over the next several weeks those products I think that all "beginners" should start to add to their "paper craft tool box".
This week's featured item is the Bone Folder. It retails for only $6.95 and is what I consider a multi-purpose tool. What I would consider the "main purpose" for this tool would be to use to get a nice, crisp fold on all your greeting cards. You simply fold your card and use the edge of the bone folder to rub along the "fold" for a nice edge. This helps prevent the "creasing effect" you sometimes get if you try to fold the card and simply rub your thumb or your nail down the paper to create that fold. Another use of the bone folder is to score your paper. Some people have a "scoring blade" on their paper trimmers, some people have an actual scoring board and tool, but when starting out in the paper crafting world, you may not have either. If you want to "score" your paper, which basically means put a "crease" in the paper that will normally be used as a guide to fold the paper for one reason or another, you could simply use a ruler to line up where you want your crease and then run the pointy end of the bone folder down the side of the ruler and "voila" - you have your score. If you have a paper trimmer, but no scoring blade, you could simply run the pointy end of the bone folder down the cutting track where your cutting blade would normally run and that will also leave a score in your paper. What other things do you use your bone folder for?
